Whether you’re going for hygge-vibes or just want to dip your toes into the boudoir photography experience, you can still create glam looks and alluring images with comfortable outfits.

Boudoir is often thought of as something brazen and bold. Photographers’ portfolios are filled with women perfectly posed in sky-high heels, draped in sumptuous lingerie laid to tease the imagination.

But there’s something to be said for a softer side of sensuality, the quiet confidence of comfort. There’s something deeply intimate about sharing a moment when you’re snuggled deep into the blankets with your hands wrapped around a warm cup of tea. And sometimes you just want that little bit of reassurance that you can wear leggings and a sweatshirt and still look like a goddess.

What should you wear if you’re looking to create this kind of warm intimacy?

Button-up Shirt - The classic boyfriend shirt can be versatile whether you want the easy feeling of laying in bed all day or getting spicier as you pull it tight around your curves (and maybe loosen up a couple of buttons) so it just barely covers in all the right places.

Off-the-shoulder Sweater - Like the boyfriend shirt, a sweater can give you room to play around and is a great way to get warmed up for your boudoir session. As a bonus, tugging on that shirt to show off a bare shoulder or playing with the sleeves.

Robes - Whether it’s a slinky and sheer number you’d wear to greet the detective investigating your late husband’s untimely death, or something a little more comfortable, robes are a great way to style up an outfit beyond a bra and panties.
